The Caras Ranch
The Caras family has been farming the same ground in Utah county for nearly a century, Jim began producing Suffolk sheep in the late 1940s, AQHA horses in the 1970's, and Angus cattle in the early 1990's. No matter what Jim is raising the goal is always to produce functional, correct, hard working livestock.
The Caras Ranch has been in the Suffolk sheep business since 1949, in those 77 years Caras sheep have topped sells all over the nation, won nearly every major Suffolk show in America and worked hard for commercial sheep men throughout the west.
The best cattle in our opinion are the type that breed 1st cycle, calve without assistance, milk well, wean a big calf and then rebreed 1st exposure year after year. For over 20 years we have been selecting sires both artificial and natural that we believe will produce those traits.
We Focus on Raising
Easy fleshing, big boned, structurally correct, deep bodied Suffolk Sheep.
Maternal, good uddered cattle with correct feet, legs and depth of body.
Nice headed, correct, hard working AQHA horses with lots of cow sense.
